ShopRite will open supermarket in Shrewsbury

ShopRite plans to open a new store at 1080 Shrewsbury Plaza, Shrewsbury, later this year. The 77,500-square-foot supermarket will be operated by Saker ShopRites, which is a family owned business that is made up of third and fourth generation grocers from Monmouth County, according to a press release.

The new store will include a bake shop, a meat department with trained butchers, a full-service seafood department with daily, fresh catch deliveries, a floral shop, and a full-service deli department, according to the press release.

The new ShopRite will offer a large selection of organic and natural products, as well as fresh produce.

The new ShopRite will also house a pharmacy, in-store cafe, and a full-service catering department. There will be a store nutrition expert and nutrition center. ShopRite from Home, the online shopping service, will also be available, according to a press release.

The store will offer freshly prepared hot entrees, sushi, a cold buffet, Mediterranean olive bar, made-to-order sandwiches and cheeses from around the world.

“We are very excited to extend our service to Shrewsbury, in the heart of Monmouth County, with the opening of this state-of-the-art shopping destination,” said Richard Saker, president of Saker ShopRites. “The new ShopRite of Shrewsbury will be a ‘World Class’ store dedicated to providing low prices and outstanding service to the local community.”
