JAMESBURG–A 32-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault, robbery and disorderly conduct after a series of burglaries.
While on patrol, Ptl. Kyle Worstter and Ptl. Raymond Durski allegedly witnessed the man, who is a borough resident, assault a person on Sedgwick Street around 11:10 p.m. July 27, according to Police Chief James Craparotta.
Craparotta said due to the nature of the victim’s injuries, the victim was taken to the hospital.
After the man’s bail hearing, he was released from the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, according to Craparotta.
Leading an investigation regarding burglaries within the borough, Det. Jason Muller and Det. Robert Caltadellatta rearrested the man at 8 p.m. on July 28 and reportedly charged him with robbery in relation to the incident that took place on July 27, according to reports.
The man was also charged with eight counts of burglary and theft in connection with a rash of car burglaries that have recently occurred within the borough, according to Craparotta.
Craparotta said the eight counts of burglary charges are not related to the incident that took place on July 27.
The man is currently in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, according to Craparotta.
