In 2017, Brent Studer, the PGA Director of Golf at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, was inducted into the NJPGA Hall of Fame. This year, Studer won his first senior major tournament.

Studer won the New Jersey PGA Professional Championship by eight strokes, the largest margin of victory in the tournament since 2010. At Navesink Country Club in Middletown, Studer shot a 135 over 36 holes from July 31 to Aug. 2. The 53-year-old finished nine strokes under par.

His win earned him a spot in the Senior PGA Professional Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla., this October. The top 35 finishers in that tournament will qualify for the Kitchen Aid Senior PGA Championship in Rochester, N.Y., next May.
