Katie McPolin of Marlboro has been named to the dean’s list of the College at the University of Chicago for the 2017-18 academic year. Katie is a philosophy major, minoring in Spanish. She studied for a semester last year in Oaxaca, Mexico. Katie is the organizer and leader of the student library workers union, the first of its kind ever formed at a U.S. private university. This summer she is interning for the National Labor Relations Board. Katie is a Marlboro High School graduate and will be a senior in the upcoming academic year.

The following area residents were named to the dean’s list at LIM College, New York City, for the spring 2018 semester: from Freehold: Jacqueline R. Delaney, Brianna M. Miller and Yusra Siddiqui; from Manalapan: Maria G. Carollo; and from Morganville: Erica N. Daidone and Simone I. Weisz. LIM College educates students in the global business of fashion and its many related industries.

The following area residents were named to the president’s list (GPA between 3.8 and 4.0) at LIM College, New York City, for the spring 2018 semester: from Freehold: Safia Rizk; from Marlboro: Shreya Golconda; and from Morganville: Taylor M. Rotelli. LIM College educates students in the global business of fashion and its many related industries.

Tyler Smolinski of Morganville has graduated from the University of Delaware, Newark, Del., with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. Tyler is a graduate of Marlboro High School. He has accepted a position with Vanguard in Malvern, Pa.

Stevenson University, Owings Mills, Md., student Brynne Wiedeman of Colts Neck was named to the spring 2018 semester dean’s list.

Saige Lacognata of Morganville has graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisc., College of Letters and Science with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.

The New York Institute of Technology announced that the following area residents are fall graduates of the Class of 2018: Vyjayanthi Mukundan of Manalapan, Bachelor of Science degree in advertising, and Ahmed Awad of Morganville, Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences.

Union College, Schenectady, N.Y., has named the following area residents to the 2018 dean’s list: Lisa Gu of Marlboro, majoring in computer engineering; and Brian Shorr of Marlboro, majoring in leadership in medicine.

Tessa Garbely of Freehold, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in computer science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Mass., was a member of a student team that recently completed hands-on research through the WPI project center in London, England. The project was titled “Developing STEM Activities for the Museum of London.” In their project summary, the students wrote, “Our team collaborated with the Museum of London to develop STEM-based activities for children and families. We reviewed published literature about family learning in museums and observed children’s programs at London museums, then designed, developed, and delivered two activities for the Easter half-term.”

Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y., announced that the following area residents have graduated: Eric Katzen of Morganville earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering; and Kayla Rodriguez of Marlboro earned a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Meray Faragalla of Marlboro was named to the dean’s list at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., for the spring 2018 semester.

Brianna Cucinelli of Morganville has been named to the dean’s list at Fairleigh Dickerson University, Florham, for the 2018 spring semester. Brianna is majoring in business in the Silberman College of Business. She is the daughter of Robert and Bernadette Cucinelli.

Matthew Scott Rosenberg of Manalapan has been named to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Fla. Matthew is majoring in marketing. He is a goalkeeper on the school’s NCAA Division I soccer team. Matthew is a 2016 graduate of Manalapan High School and is the son of Gail and Steven Rosenberg.

Aliza Barnett of Morganville has graduated from the University at Albany, N.Y., with a Bachelor of Science in biology.

Amanda Taylor Reznik of Manalapan has been named to the dean’s list at Rutgers University for the 2018 spring semester. Amanda graduated cum laude with degrees in psychology and criminal justice. She will be attending graduate school in the fall.

Landon J. Patmore of Manalapan, a senior majoring in software engineering at the State University of New York, Oswego, N.Y., worked with Saab Sensis in East Syracuse, N.Y., during the summer through the SUNY Oswego Cooperative Education Program. Co-op students enter a partnership with the school’s Center for Experiential Learning and employers to gain practical experience relevant to their major. It is full-time, paid employment.

Gianna Curtis of Manalapan has been named to the dean’s list at Rutgers University for the spring 2018 semester. Gianna has been accepted into the university’s Business School, majoring in accounting. She is a 2017 graduate of Manalapan High School and is the daughter of Lenny and Catherine Curtis.

Delaware Valley University, Doylestown, Pa., announced that the following area residents have graduated: Christopher Coyle of Morganville earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in media and communication; and Mikala Kocsik of Freehold earned a Bachelor of Science in zoo science.
