Freehold Township officials authorize purchase of vehicles

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The purchase of nine vehicles at a total cost of $255,597 has been authorized by the Township Committee in Freehold Township.

On Aug. 15, committee members authorized a contract with Beyer of Morristown for the purchase of six 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4s and one 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman 4×4 Crew Cab. According to the resolution, the six Jeep Cherokees will cost $138,517 and the Ram Tradesman will cost $29,578, for a total of $168,095.

The contract for the seven vehicles was awarded by the Education Services Commission of New Jersey, of which Freehold Township is a member, according to the resolution.

In addition to the vehicles, the committee authorized a contract with Cherry Valley Tractor Sales of Marlton for the purchase of one Kubota tractor-loader-backhoe and one Kubota utility vehicle, also awarded by the Education Services Commission of New Jersey. The tractor-loader-backhoe will cost $59,388 and the utility vehicle will cost $28,114, for a total of $87,502, according to the resolution.

Overall, the nine vehicles purchased will total $255,597.

In other business, committee members authorized a one-year contract with Jungle Lasers, LLC for municipal software implementation and maintenance for various township departments and the fire bureau.

According to a resolution, Jungle Lasers will supply the township and fire bureau with the required software implementation and maintenance in the amount of $19,000 in 2018 and $55,000 in 2019, contingent on the Township Committee’s approval of the 2019 municipal budget.

The committee awarded individual contracts to Reed & Perrine Sales Inc., of the Tennent section of Manalapan, SiteOne Landscape Supplies, Cleveland, Ohio, and Levitt’s LLC, Pine Brook, for the furnishing and delivery of turf maintenance supplies.

Reed & Perrine was awarded a $20,004 contract, SiteOne Landscape Supplies was awarded a $12,969 contract and Levitt’s was awarded a $9,035 contract, for a total cost of $42,008.

Additionally, committee members awarded a contract to Romeo’s Bros. Enterprises, LLC for catering services for Freehold Township Parks and Recreation Department events in an amount not to exceed $30,000.

In other business, committee members awarded a one-year $27,540 contract to High Performance Systems Corporation for the replacement of chemical room floors at the Southside Chlorine Pump Room, the Northside Pump Room and the Point Ivy plant.

Committee members awarded a $19,548 contract to Pine Barrens Golf Club LLC of Jackson for golf course and banquet rental. The $19,548 contract is comprised of $14,688 for golf fees and $4,860 for the dinner banquet, according to the resolution.

Finally, the committee awarded a $10,874 contract to Rapid Pump & Meter Service Company, Inc. for the furnishing and installation of a new sewage ejector pump pit, motor and valve for the Freehold Township Police Department.
