Raritan Bay Medical Center to offer angioscreen, balance seminar

The Human Motion Institute at Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge will hold a free Total Joint Replacement Education session from 8-9 a.m. on Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25 in the Patient Education Center, 1st Floor, Medical and Surgical Pavilion, 2 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge.

The session is intended for patients who have been scheduled for joint replacement surgery or for those who would like to learn more about joint replacement.  Registration required by calling 1-800-560-9990.

The Institute of Weight Loss will hold “Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for Me?” from 7-8 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 12 and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 in Suite 404, Medical Arts Building, 3 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge. The informative event will focus on weight loss surgery including discussion on Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass, Adjustable Gastric Banding, and Gastric Sleeve and concerns surrounding weight loss surgery as well as its successes. Screenings include carotid artery ultrasound, heart rhythm, blood pressure and screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral artery disease. An “Are you Really Healthy” education session from 10-11 a.m. and ftom 6-7 p.m. on Sept. 26 in Auxiliary Hall B, 3 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge. This a 5-Pillar approach to your optimal health and well-being. Registration required by calling 732-324-5257.

The Center of Balance will hold a free Solutions to Balance Problems and Physician Q&A event from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Medical Arts Building, Suite 409, 3 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge. People who frequently feel dizzy or if objects appear to bounce while walking can benefit from treatment. ENT specialist Vicente Zapanta, medical director of the Center of Balance, will answer attendees’ questions. To register, call 732-324-5030.
