CentraState Medical Center once again earned The Joint Commission’s two-year accreditation for its Total Joint Program by demonstrating compliance with the commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.

The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification was earned only after The Total Joint Center of New Jersey at CentraState underwent a rigorous onsite review. Joint Commission experts evaluated the center’s compliance with national disease-specific care standards, effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care, organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities, and total hip and total knee replacement requirements, including orthopedic consultation, and pre-operative, intraoperative and post-surgical orthopedic surgeon follow-up care.

The Total Joint Center of New Jersey at CentraState provides comprehensive, integrated care including a team of board-certified orthopedic surgeons, specially trained orthopedic nurses, a total joint coordinator, patient care technicians, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians and other care providers across the continuum. The center performs innovative procedures, including quad sparing knee replacement and direct anterior hip replacement and provides an expedited recovery process where patients can leave the hospital after a brief stay and recover in the comfort of their own home.

“Joint Commission recognition is a testament to our center’s commitment to providing the highest level of coordinated care and latest technologies in hip and knee replacement surgeries to our patients,” said Dr. Alan S. Nasar, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and medical director of The Total Joint Center of New Jersey at CentraState. “We are very proud because it also speaks volumes about our center’s clinical staff that are passionate about and dedicated to restoring quality of life to each and every one of our orthopedic patients.”

In addition to offering advanced surgical services for joint pain, The Total Joint Center also provides an array of non-surgical treatment option. These include a tailored rehab program designed to increase mobility, build strength and relieve joint pain, as well as pain management.
