Educators take new administrative roles in Howell public schools

HOWELL – As the 2018-19 school year begins, there are changes in administrative positions in the Howell K-8 School District. District administrators said there are two new principals and three new vice principals on board.

Ray Gredder is the new principal of Memorial School. He has been in education for 16 years, including the past 14 years in Howell. Gredder has held positions as a special education teacher, a fifth grade teacher and a teacher of gifted and talented pupils.

For the past three years, Gredder was the vice principal and the supervisor of the program for gifted and talented pupils at the Newbury School.

Gredder is a Howell resident and the father of two children. He enjoys spending time at the beach with his children and wife of 11 years. He is an avid runner and self-described lifelong suffering Mets fan, according to a biography provided by the school district.

Brooke Napoli is the new principal at the Taunton School. Napoli was raised in Jackson and began her teaching career in Howell in 2002. She has taught seventh grade, second grade and fourth grade. She was lead teacher at the Greenville School from 2011-14 and vice principal at the Greenville and Ramtown schools from 2014-18.

Napoli and her husband, Stephen, are the parents of a son and daughter. They enjoy watching their children participate in activities including T-ball, swimming and dance. When Napoli has free time in the spring and summer, she enjoys tending to her gardens, according to a biography provided by the school district.

Ben Howroyd is joining Newbury School as the new vice principal and the district’s K-5 supervisor of the program for gifted and talented students. He previously taught third grade for 15 years in the Monroe Township School District.

According to a biography provided by the school district, Howroyd believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at Newbury.

In his free time, Howroyd enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary, and their two children, 4-year-old Abigail and 1-year-old Andrew, watching and playing sports, and reading.

Natalie Nigro completed her student teaching at the Taunton School in the spring of 2003 and joined the district the following fall at Taunton. There she taught first and second grades and academic support. Most recently she was an instructional coach before accepting her new position as the vice principal at Taunton.

Nigro resides in Point Pleasant with her husband, Rob, and their two boys, Christian and Grant. Nigro is an avid runner who enjoys spending time with her family at the Jersey Shore, according to a biography provided by the school district.

Kathleen Stigliano has been named a vice principal at Middle School North. Stigliano spent the greater part of her career as a special education teacher and has extensive experience working with students who have a wide variety of special needs, according to a biography provided by the school district.

She transitioned from the classroom to the child study team in 2014 and has spent the last four years as a learning disabilities teacher consultant in Howell. Stigliano is currently pursuing her doctor of education at Seton Hall University. She resides in Fair Haven with her husband, Brian, and their 3-year-old son, Jimmy.
