In an effort to provide more children in foster care with an advocate, CASA of Middlesex County is launching “Lift Up!: A Volunteer Recruitment Campaign” with a lakeside wine and cheese party on Sept. 23 at Lago, 230 Washington Place, North Brunswick.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are volunteers who act as the “eyes and ears” of the family court system, providing critical information to help judges make the best decisions for children who have been removed from their biological families due to abuse or neglect.

At the recruitment event, attendees will enjoy wine, cheese and hors d’oeuvres, while hearing from current volunteers and CASA staff about the roles and responsibilities of CASA volunteers, the support they receive and the impact they can have on a child’s life.
