The Metuchen YMCA is in its seventh year of offering ballet dance classes, and because of its resounding success, the program has officially been renamed the Metuchen Ballet Academy. The classes are taught by Elizabeth West, who danced professionally for 15 years with Ballet Oklahoma, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and Terra Firma Dance Theatre.

Currently, there are two levels of dance classes available for young dancers, ages 4-7 and two levels of dance classes available for growing dancers, ages 7-12. Both girls and boys are welcome at the classes. Teens and adults are also welcome via a class-card program or drop-in rate. Programs run in eight-week sessions and begin October 29, January 2, February 25 and April 22.
