The closing of The Brothers Moon is sad for the community

To the editor:

It was with great sadness that we learned of the imminent closing of the Brothers’ Moon Restaurant. Chef Will Mooney was a pioneer 17 years ago for bringing a farm-to-table restaurant to Hopewell at a time when there were very few eating establishments. He created a sense of community by holding fundraisers for local causes like the purchase of St. Michael’s property and by generously donating to many local non-profits.

We always could count on Chef Will for delicious additions to our events, both personal parties and charitable donations. The Brothers’ Moon was a place you could always run into friends from the wider community; it became a hub of Hopewell.

Chef Will was most interested in satisfying his customers, and would go to great lengths to prepare special, off-the-menu meals to meet dietary restrictions. Hopewell owes a debt of gratitude to Will Mooney for his culinary leadership and supporting the best interest of this community. The Brothers’ Moon will be sorely missed!
