Allen is the latest person identified in a rash of unlocked car burglaries in the township throughout the summer, according to information provided by the South Brunswick Police Department. He is charged with attempting to break into a car on Deans Lane on Sept. 3. At 4:43 a.m. a resident reportedly woke up when a sensor floodlight was activated in the driveway. The resident observed a heavy-set male run from his driveway, according to police.

Evidence Technician Officer Sean Roberts processed the Jeep and reportedly uncovered a latent fingerprint from the vehicle, according to the statement. The fingerprint was submitted to the New Jersey State Police Automated Finger Identification System Unit and the print reportedly matched to Allen.

He is charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary.

“We have been aggressive in pursuing all leads to track down the people who have targeted unlocked vehicles in the township this summer. We have charged four suspects over the past month in connection to the burglaries. The suspects are not connected and appear to choose locations at random. They look for opportunities to strike unlocked vehicles of unsuspecting residents in the overnight hours. I want to thank the residents who have provided information and give credit to the excellent crime scene processing of Officer Roberts with the latest solved case,” Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.

Anyone with information on Allen’s whereabouts should contact police at 732-329-4646.
