Free disease education programs offered in East Brunswick, Milltown

Anyone suffering from a chronic condition such as arthritis, heart disease, osteoporosis or diabetes can attend a free six-week workshop series from 9:30 a.m. to noon Fridays, Oct. 5 through Nov. 9, at the East Brunswick Library, Civic Center Drive off Ryders Lane, East Brunswick.

Learn to manage symptoms like stress and depression; get started with healthy eating and exercise; communicate effectively with your doctor; manage fear, anger and frustration; and make daily tasks easier.

There will also be a free diabetes-specific self-management workshop series taking place at the Milltown Public Library, 20 W. Church St., Milltown, from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 6 through Dec. 11. To register, call Jarmaine Williams at 732-955-8168.

 

Healthy snacks, literature and resources will be provided. All attendees must register by the second session.
