Harvest Home Festival will take place at Longstreet Farm

The Monmouth County Park System invites residents of all communities to enjoy Historic Longstreet Farm’s Harvest Home Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30. Held at 44 Longstreet Road, Holmdel, this old-fashioned country fair is reminiscent of the 1890s and features wagon rides, old-fashioned games, live entertainment and more.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

• Ongoing Entertainment: “Wahoo” Medicine Show and “Phydeauz” Flea Circus; Jugtown Mountain Band; Banjo Music – Chuck Winch; Accordion Melodies – Theresa Rehberg;

• Entertainment: Mind Games – Magician Denny More, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.; Chorus of the Atlantic, 1-1:45 p.m. and 2:15-3 p.m.; Vintage Baseball, Russ McIver, 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.;

• Craft Demonstrations: Rug Hooking, Lace-making, Smocking, Quilting, Penny Rugs, Weaving, Knitting, Embroidery, Spinning, Felting, Chair Caning and Rushing;

•Demonstrations: Beekeeping, Blacksmithing, Woodworking, Cider Making, noon to 4 p.m., Corn Shelling, noon to 4 p.m., Two-Man Saw, noon to 4:30 p.m.;

• Corn Husking Competition: noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

• Pie-Eating Contest: Ages 8 and under, 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; Ages 9-14, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.; and Adults, 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
