5K fundraiser to help Monroe resident run again without assistance

The eighth annual Matt Collura 5K Run, Walk & BBQ will be held on Oct. 14 at Thompson Park, Perrineville Road, Jamesburg.

Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. The race starts at 10:30 a.m.

Participants must register in advance. The cost is $30 per person or $15 per child age 7 and younger. USATF discounts available.

Matt Collura is a 34-year-old resident of Monroe and a lifelong runner. In March 2011, he suffered severe brain trauma in a snowboarding accident. Proceeds will go toward the intense physical therapy and equipment needed to help him walk and run without assistance.
