Awards will be presented to those who positively influence youth of North Brunswick

The North Brunswick Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for the Young Adult Peer Advocate and Youth Advocate Awards.

The Young Adult Peer Advocate Award is presented annually to a North Brunswick senior in public or private high school who distinguishes herself/himself by demonstrating examples of strong character, leadership skills and a positive attitude which influences fellow youths in North Brunswick.

Include student’s first and last name, email address, phone contact, school, details of community service/project/event, any participation in sports/theater/etc. and a 50 word essay why you are deserving of the award.

The Youth Advocate Award recognizes an adult in the community who has engaged in public or private efforts which promote positive activities and support the best interest of the youth of North Brunswick. Email a detailed recommendation of a candidate and describe the area he/she has made a positive difference.

Information should be sent to lbenson@northbrunswicknj.gov no later than Oct. 17. The awards will be presented during the Dec. 3 Township Council meeting.
