A 43-year-old and a 32-year-old were both charged with receiving stolen property, fraudulent use of a credit card and attempted theft during the week of Sept. 17. They were processed and released on their own recognizance, police said.

A 51-year-old and a 36-year-old were both charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Both were being detained at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick awaiting a detention hearing, as of press time, police said.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Main Street near Woodbridge Avenue at 3:50 p.m. on July 29. A 61-year-old Fords resident was sitting in his vehicle when he was reportedly approached by three males. One of the males allegedly proceeded to punch the victim in his face and then stole various items from him while the other two males acted as lookouts. All three men then fled the area on foot, according to police.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his face, police said.

Police detectives identified two men who attempted to use the victim’s stolen debit cards, which led to the arrest of two of the three men who were involved in the robbery, including the man who struck the victim, according to police.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information should call Police Detective Joseph Keane at 732-632-8501.
