Burlington County residents will soon have the opportunity to develop and expand their professional business skills.

That opportunity is the result of the county Board of Chosen Freeholders and Rowan College at Burlington County’s Workforce Development Institute teaming up to hold a series of free industry-focused career fairs.

“I am pleased to help host these industry career fairs and provide a convenient and efficient way for jobseekers to connect with employers in their fields,” Burlington County Freeholder Director Kate Gibbs said. “Through the county’s partnership with RCBC and the Workforce Development Institute, we are working to equip our residents with the job training and skills they need to meet the modern workplace demands of today and tomorrow.”

The following industry-focused career fairs will be held at the college’s Student Success Center from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Thursday, Nov. 1: Healthcare

Thursday, March 21, 2019: Advanced Manufacturing, Transportation/Logistics/Distribution & Construction Trades

The Burlington Regional Chamber of Commerce is providing promotional sponsorship for the Career Fair as well. Some of the participating businesses at the Career Fair on Sept. 20 include Assured Partners, Cenlar FSB, PCS, Republic Bank, Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. Anyone planning to attend must be at least 18 years old and dress in professional business attire. For more information and a list of employers attending the event, visit rcbc.edu/careerfair.

“Rowan College at Burlington County is committed to partnering with Burlington County, the Burlington Regional Chamber of Commerce and several businesses and organizations, to create programs that will ultimately grow the economy and prepare residents for productive careers,” said RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce. “When we all work together, students will obtain the skills employers need.”

RCBC also offers a variety of professional development courses and workforce development education programs that provide industry-recognized credentials. Registration for RCBC’s fall professional development offerings is currently open. For a complete course listing or to register, visit rcbc.edu/ppd.
