Jonas Salk Middle School will host 5K Fun Run Oct. 6

 

Jonas Salk Middle School will host a 5K Fun Run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Oct. 6 at the school, 155 West Greystone Road, Old Bridge.

This will mark the school’s second annual race to support middle school visual and performing arts and a healthy lifestyle.

The course will be located on a closed paved road around the school.

There will be vendors from the community, a warm up activity by Max Fitness before the race, wellness activities at the conclusion of the race and other family activities for those waiting for friends and family participating in the run.

Friendly’s will be on site with its ice cream truck for a post-race treat. Additionally, Grillestone of Old Bridge will provide a 20 percent off coupon for all participants.

In-person registration will be available from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the school. The cost to participate is $25 for adults; $15 for students; and children five and under are free.

The 5k run will start at 10 a.m.; a one-mile fun run/walk will begin at 10:10 a.m.; and the awards ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.

Packet pick up will be available from 4-7 p.m. on Oct. 5 or from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Oct. 6 at the school.

Parking on race day will be available in the middle school parking lot or at the Raymond Voorhees Elementary School, 11 Liberty St., Old Bridge
