Shakespeare company to present ‘The Spanish Tragedy’ at Old Bridge Library

The Old Bridge Library will present two cultural events this month, when it welcomes back The Wag and the Hudson Shakespeare Company.

The Wag will perform as part of the Second Saturday Concert Series at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 13. An upbeat, high-energy band based in New Jersey’s Bayshore area, The Wag’s style varies from blues to pop to rock, and features three alternating lead singers.

The Hudson Shakespeare Company will perform “The Spanish Tragedy” at 2 p.m. on Oct. 21. Its plot revolves around a plan to solidify peace between Portugal and Spain, as the Spanish prince Lorenzo hopes to marry his sister off to a Portuguese prince.

Attendees are requested to bring a non-perishable, unexpired donation for the Old Bridge Food Pantry to these free events.

The library is located at 1 Old Bridge Plaza at the corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road in the Municipal Center. For more information, visit www.oldbridgelibrary.org or call 732-721-5600, ext. 5033.
