Teacher arrested for sending illicit photos, messages to student

Michelina Aichele, 29, of Hillsborough

A 29-year-old Montgomery Township High School teacher and Hillsborough resident was taken into police custody last Friday, after she was found to have been engaged in sexually explicit conversations with a 17-year-old student.

Michelina Aichele, of Capricorn Drive, is an English teacher and soccer coach at the high school.

According to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, officials at the high school contacted the Montgomery Township Police Department on Thursday, Oct. 4 after they learned of the alleged communications.

During an investigation by the Montgomery Police Department, the 17-year-old male student was interviewed by detectives. He told officials that he had received nude photos from Aichele over the course of several months. He also described details of a number of sexually graphic conversations he had with the teacher through social media and e-mail.

The following day, on Friday, Oct. 5, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit responded to assist the local police with the investigation. Shortly afterward, Aichele was arrested without incident.

Aichele was later lodged in the Someset County Jail in Somerville, pending a detention hearing.

Robertson, Chief of County Detectives John Fodor, and Montgomery Township Police Director Thomas Wain request anyone with additional information regarding Aichele’s alleged misconduct to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit at 908-231-7100, or the Montgomery Township Police Department at 908-359-3222.
