The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education (Chhange) at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, has announced the honorees for its 2018 testimonial dinner: Howard P. Dorman, Tim McLoone and Patrick M. Dalton.
The dinner will take place on Nov. 1 at the Grand Marquis, Old Bridge. This is the first event marking Chhange’s 40th year of educating, inspiring and empowering individuals to stand up against injustice since its founding in 1979, according to a press release.
Dorman, a senior partner at Mazars USA, is currently serving as president of the Chhange Board of Directors. A child of Holocaust survivors, Dorman has been a life member and staunch supporter of Chhange for decades, according to the press release.
McLoone will be recognized for his leadership and commitment to the community. An accomplished musician, athlete and entrepreneur, McLoone is the founder of Holiday Express, a volunteer, nonprofit and nonsectarian organization dedicated to bringing music, gifts and holiday cheer to those less fortunate, according to the press release.
Dalton will receive Chhange’s 2018 Community Service Award for his exemplary work with Chhange and the community. As the director of music for the Freehold Regional High School District at Marlboro High School since 1986, Dalton has brought the Marlboro High School choir and string quartet to perform at Chhange’s Holocaust Remembrance program every year since 2014.
Hundreds of guests who have attended the Holocaust Remembrance program have been moved to tears by the heartfelt musical renditions performed by the students under Dalton’s charge, according to the press release.
