East Brunswick police charge suspects for stealing from seven cars

EAST BRUNSWICK–Two suspects received multiple burglary and possession of stolen property charges for allegedly stealing items out of at least seven cars on Oct. 10.

A resident reported that his Ring doorbell recorded a suspicious person in his yard and near his vehicles, police said.

On Oct. 10, at 3:45 a.m., patrol units responded to the area near Pine Ridge Park and located a woman, 27, of Florida, allegedly walking in the neighborhood with a large plastic bag full of loose change in her possession, police said.

A further search of the area resulted in officers locating a man, 31, of New York, hiding in the rear of a residence. The man was also found to have property from neighborhood motor vehicles in his possession, police said.

Further investigation revealed that both suspects had been staying at Motel 6, reportedly walked into the neighborhood in the area of the Pine Ridge Park development and allegedly burglarized at least seven motor vehicles, police said.

In addition, both the woman and man were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.

The East Brunswick Police Department is asking anyone who resides in the Pine Ridge Park development to contact Det. Kim DiParisi if they were also a victim of any car break-ins during this timeframe. DiParisi can be reached by calling 732-390-6990.
