Home Hillsborough Beacon Hillsborough Opinion

In support of Holmes and Wright for township committee and Malinowski for Congress

To the editor:

Infrastructure – a word preached for years that is in dire need of addressing: widen/repair roads, repair/replace bridges, improve/build tunnels. It wasn’t too long ago that we had a presidential candidate who assured us that his second priority (upon becoming commander-in-chief and after building a wall) would be to improve our roads and transportation systems. Unless I missed that tweet I have not heard a concrete step in that direction.

About 20 years ago a friend of mine, who worked for a national housing developer, stated how his company loved doing business in New Jersey. In New Jersey, many times all they were required to do was to remediate the land upon which they were building. In many other states they often had to build/improve roads, create parks, and sometimes even build schools.

With all the recent housing developments in Hillsborough, the only improvement I’ve witnessed is an extra light on 206 near the already existing light on Valley Road. The result? Northbound morning rush hour traffic backed up for miles and classrooms often with 30 students…or more.

Is this how politics is done? It’s time to make it undone! Vote Democrats Tom Malinowski for Congress and Jeff Wright and Olivia Holmes for Hillsborough Township Committee.
