Welle earns resident’s support in bid for Congress

Typing Letter to the Editor for the Opinion page.

Enough whining about what’s going on in Washington. Stop hand-wringing, complaining, crying; no more grumbling on Facebook. Nov. 6 is the time to do something positive. Vote.

Josh Welle is a young, committed veteran who is running for Congress in the 4th District (most of Monmouth County). Josh graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and spent 12 years in the Navy, including a tour in Afghanistan.

He is committed to ensuring access to affordable, quality healthcare for every American, protecting a women’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, fighting for LGBTQ rights, bringing jobs back to New Jersey, and lowering taxes so people can afford to live, work, raise their families, and retire here. He is working to combat climate change and fights for homeless veterans.

By contrast, his opponent Chris Smith has been consistently against a woman’s right to choose, LGBT rights, and the Affordable Care Act. He is so extreme that he tried to redefine rape to only mean “forcible rape,” to make it harder to prove. He has been on the job for 38 years. It’s time for a change.

On Nov. 6, we have a chance to do something tangible and positive. Vote for Josh Welle for Congress.
