Holmes and Wright present a clear vision for the township

To the editor:

I emphatically support Olivia Holmes and Jeffrey Wright for township committee in Hillsborough.

Hillsborough has been under one-party rule for too many years and more than ever, that party is wrong on the issues, wrong for Hillsborough, and wrong for New Jersey. Republicans say they represent all of Hillsborough but have yet to speak out against Donald Trump, the Republican Party that enables him, and their misguided policies that cost New Jersey residents money and personal freedoms.

Republicans say they are the party of fiscal responsibility but we have seen our municipal taxes double and services decline under their rule. Republicans say they are the party for open space but have yet to present a cohesive vision for Hillsborough and stick to it. Major decisions and appointments are based on cronyism rather than what is best for our town. Development in open spaces is promoted while storefronts in our town center sit empty. Roads to nowhere are favored over truly sustainable projects like more open spaces, bike lanes, and sidewalks.

Olivia Holmes and Jeffrey Wright have presented a clear vision for Hillsborough in which our open spaces are preserved, our master plan is updated and adhered to, decisions are made in an open and bipartisan way, and true fiscal responsibility returns to our government. Hillsborough deserves better than what we have had for too long and that is why I will vote for Olivia Holmes, Jeffrey Wright and the entire Democratic ticket on Nov. 6.
