To the editor:
Jane Staats is a candidate for the Hillsborough Board of Education. Her name may be familiar to you, as Jane was also a candidate for the township committee in the past, but be assured, she is not looking to be a partisan influence on the board, but rather is firm in her resolve to give back to the community in any way she can.
Those who knew her well always thought that the best fit for Jane was on the board of education. As a long time (retired) math teacher in the school district, Jane understands the need for district transparency, community input and commitment to provide the very best for the children in Hillsborough. Jane has lived with the evolution of the school district, its curriculum, and its policies that have responded to the growth of technology and the increasing need for safety regulations.
She has volunteered for outreach programs with community advocacy groups for children, domestic violence, and voter registration. Jane is an educator and a mom whose son went through the Hillsborough schools. She has seen the schools from all perspectives, and will add immeasurably to the board of education. I urge you to join me in giving Jane Staats your vote for the Hillsborough Board of Education.
