Earlier this year, my administration and the council worked to create a nonprofit organization to promote and advance the arts in East Brunswick. We are now in search of artists, historians, business leaders and other residents with a strong interest in the arts and history of our township to serve as members of the inaugural board of directors.

This organization, to be known as the East Brunswick Arts Coalition, is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and literary purposes, and will work to enhance the artistic and historical components of our community through events, activities and other innovative means.

The coalition will draw from the expertise of our township Arts Commission, Museum Corporation, Human Relations Commission, Historical Society, and Playhouse 22, and will coordinate their activities to reach have a wider audience. Each of those boards will have one representative on the Arts Coalition.

The remaining seven spots on the board are reserved for local artists, members of the community or local business leaders who wish to use their expertise to help us bring the East Brunswick arts and historical communities to the next level.

If this is something that you wish to get involved with, please email your resume and a statement of interest to Mayor@EastBrunswick.org by Nov. 7.
