SOUTH RIVER–Hoping to inspire residents to stroll their way to better health, the South River Public Library has launched The Walking Club.

Children’s and Outreach Librarian Laura Harper said she started the club on Sept. 10 to encourage a healthy lifestyle and increase community involvement.

“We meet in the library parking lot at 9:30 a.m. every Monday,” she said.
Harper said the club is open to everyone of all levels and abilities, and strollers are also welcome.
Residents should participate because “sometimes it’s easier to exercise with other people to help with motivation and accountability,” Harper said.
