Cranbury election too close to call

The three-way race for two seats on the Cranbury Township Committee on Nov. 6 was too close to call, with the outcome hinging on absentee and provisional ballots.

Wayne Wittman, a Republican, received 840 votes, with Township Committeeman and Democrat Jay Taylor at 818 votes. Township Committeeman and fellow Democrat Michael J. Ferrante was in third with 767 votes.

An exact total for how many absentee and provisionals was not immediately available.
Votes were expected to be counted this week.
