East Brunswick police charge housekeeper with allegedly stealing money

EAST BRUNSWICK – A 64-year-old female from Clark has been charged with two counts of theft for reportedly stealing more than $500 from her employer.

East Brunswick police received a complaint on Sept. 27 that a self-employed housekeeper had possibly stolen thousands of dollars from a 92-year-old Cranbury Road resident, according to police.

The victim’s family reported that the theft was captured on a home surveillance camera, according to police.

Members of the East Brunswick Police Investigative Division set up surveillance on the suspect at the victim’s residence on Oct. 3 and observed the woman allegedly opening a drawer and reportedly stealing more than $500 in cash, according to police.

The detectives immediately confronted the woman, who was charged with two counts of theft. The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
