The race for a seat on the Princeton Board of Education could hinge on absentee and provisional votes, with some of the top vote-getters not ready to declare victory after voting on Nov. 6.

Brian McDonald said he was not declaring victory, despite having 3,895 votes that had him at the top of the five-person field for three seats.

Daniel Dart said he was “fairly confident” that he had won one of the three seats up for grabs. He had recorded 3,611 votes.

Incumbent Betsy Baglio, who came in with 3,303 votes, said she was not declaring victory, while fellow incumbent, Dafna Kendal, who registered 3,207 votes, said she was not conceding.

Mary Clurman stood in fifth place with 3,157 votes.

The municipal clerk’s office could not report how many provisional and absentee ballots remained to be counted.
