Teens to use 70,000 LEGOs to build scale model of Jerusalem

East Brunswick United Synagogue Youth (EBUSY) will hold a building blocks workshop from 3-5 p.m. on Dec. 16 where more than 70,000 LEGOs will be used to make a scale model of Jerusalem, at the East Brunswick Jewish Center, 511 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick.

The 20- by 32-foot scale will be built by Kadimaniks (grades 6-8) and USYers (grades 9-12) as well as all of Hagalil.

All proceeds will benefit Tikkun Olam, with funds partially going to USY for scholarships so teens can enjoy USY/Kadima events. The rest of the money is allocated out to Jewish and Israeli organizations that help the hungry, the poor and the uneducated, to promote Holocaust awareness, to support IDF troops, to raise awareness and support for Israel, and more.

Event cost is $20 per participant.

Deadline to RSVP is Nov. 18.
