East Brunswick police charge Monroe man with car burglary

EAST BRUNSWICK–A 29-year-old man from Monroe has been charged with allegedly stealing cash and items out of various vehicles.

East Brunswick patrol units responded to the area of University Road on a report of a male breaking into multiple motor vehicles around 4 a.m. on Nov. 11, according to police.

Patrolman Dan Werner reportedly located a male walking on Wellington Road who matched the description provided by the complainant. The subsequent investigation revealed the man reportedly was in possession of cash and property not belonging to him, according to police.

Additionally, the man was positively identified by the complainant as the suspect breaking into the motor vehicles, police said. The man was charged with burglary and theft. He was released pending a court date, according to police.
