Middlesex County sponsored the official inauguration of the NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce as hundreds of veterans, business executives and public officials attended the launch meeting and procurement expo.

The full-day event held at the Pines Manor in Edison on Nov. 8 focused on opportunities for veterans, veteran-owned companies and companies that want to do business with them.

Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios, who attended as the representative for the Board of Chosen Freeholders, and who is a strong advocate for veterans, said “I’m so grateful that you’ve honored our county by holding your first meeting here [in the county]. I believe that the best way to thank our veterans is to help them return home to a safe, productive life. My fellow freeholders and I want to build on these programs and keep enhancing opportunities for our veterans. Together, we can give them the best programs and services possible.”

The NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce is a 501c(6) organization with a mission focused on veteran business advocacy, networking and education.

Retired Colonel Jeff Cantor, founder and CEO of the New Jersey Veterans Chamber of Commerce, said, “What we’re trying to do is advance the economic environment for veterans in the state of New Jersey. Luckily, places like Middlesex County are leaning forward to help our veterans.  Freeholder Director Rios has always been supportive of veterans. We’re very, very excited to have our launch in Middlesex County and to be a part of this growing network of entities that are going to support veteran and disabled veteran businesses.”
