Joseph Dwyer of Howell, a member of the 2018 Marching Royal Dukes of James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va., will travel to New York City with the marching band to perform in the 92nd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Joseph, who is majoring in horn performance, plays in the band’s Mellophone section. The Marching Royal Dukes were selected from more than 100 applications sent to the parade committee. This is the band’s fourth appearance in the parade. The band previously performed in the 2001, 2008 and 2013 parades.

Christopher Grimes of Jackson, a doctor of physical therapy student at University of the Sciences, Philadelphia, received a white coat at annual Physical Therapy White Coat Ceremony on Sept. 8, 2018. The ceremony is an annual rite of passage for students entering the professional phase of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Christopher continues on the path to receiving a doctor of physical therapy degree in May 2021.
