Jamaicans and Friends of Jamaica will welcome in the New Year with a Pre-New Year’s Ball, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Jamaica Organization of New Jersey, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Dec. 29 at The Imperia, 1714 Easton Ave., Somerset.
There will be a cultural presentation, door prizes and music by Jamore Band.

Hosted by Essex and Middlesex County chapters of JON-J, the event will serve as a fundraiser with proceeds going toward the organization’s scholarship fund and the science lab at The Queen’s School in Jamaica.
