The Village of Dayton will hold its 16th annual Holiday Lighting Celebration, sponsored by the Dayton Village Citizens Coalition, on Dec. 9 at the Slack Carroll Historic House, 354 Georges Road, Dayton section of South Brunswick.

Bring your own natural ornaments to hang on the trees at 3:45 p.m. around the “five points” in Dayton for the benefit of the wildlife.

At 4:15 p.m., attendees will cross the street to the park next to La Taverna Restaurant , where they will sing holiday songs.

At around 4:45 p.m. a surprise “cool” guest will arrive with special treats.

At 4:55 p.m. the tree will be lit, and afterwards all are welcome to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church across the street.

Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected for the South Brunswick Food Pantry.
