TOMS RIVER NORTH

Toms River High School North defeated Southern Regional High School, 31-21, on Oct. 26 in Toms River.

The victory improved Toms River North’s record to 6-2.

Toms River North will now focus on the South, Group 5 state sectional playoffs when it plays Vineland High School on Nov. 2 in the opening round in Toms River Kick off is set for 7 p.m..

Junior running back Jarrod Pruitt sparked the Mariners in their victory over Southern Regional when he scored three touchdowns. Toms River North’s sophomore quarterback, Jake Kazanowsky, contributed to the victory with a TD pass.

TOMS RIVER EAST

Toms River High School East improved its record to 3-5 when it defeated Colts Neck High School, 20-3, on Oct. 26 in Toms River.

Toms River High School East will seek its fourth victory of the season when it plays Central Regional High School on Nov. 1. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

Junior fullback Frankie Giannetti spearheaded the victory for Toms River East when he rushed for 134 yards on 18 carries and scored a touchdown. Toms River East junior quarterback Mike Goodall and senior back Nick Bushell each ran for a TD in the victory.

TOMS RIVER SOUTH

Toms River High School South defeated Barnegat High School in overtime, 13-7, on Oct. 26 in Toms River. The victory improved Toms River South’s record to 2-6.

Toms River South senior quarterback Sam Conover scored the winning touchdown in overtime. Toms River South’s sophomore quarterback, Matt Xiques, threw for a touchdown in the victory.

Toms River South plays at home against Neptune High School on Nov. 1. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The Indians will then play Lakewood High School in the annual Thanksgiving Day matchup on Nov. 22.
