PRINCETON – DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation would like to recognize The Roma Bank Community Foundation for their generous donation in support of the foundation’s efforts to prepare today’s students for a lifetime of financial responsibility through engaging financial literacy education programs delivered free to schools and communities.

Their donation will serve to support the foundation’s signature curriculum known as “The FitKit H.S. Youth Personal Finance Program,” aimed at educating high school students about personal finance.

The FitKit, which is gaining recognition in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has been used by more than 5,750 students in select New Jersey and Pennsylvania schools. Although thirty-seven states have included financial literacy education in K-12 standards, only seventeen require a high school course to be taken, only 7 actually measure students’ knowledge. The FitKit is an innovative turn-key approach that focuses on building skills specifically related to personal finance andincludes teach-the-teacher, cues and background information, pre and post assessments, standards mapped unit and lesson plans, power point presentations, innovative peer-to-per videos, student background information, study guides and content that truly empowers and engages students.

“Roma Bank Community Foundation has been a consistent supporter our organizations great work for several years. We are truly thankful for the commitment of their leadership staff and employees,” said Robert M. Church, executive director of DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation. “It will help the foundation tremendously as we continue in our efforts to close the financial literacy gap for underserved populations in our country and build stronger communities, one student, one classroom, and one school at a time.”

DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation’s (DMFLF) mission is to prepare today’s students for a lifetime of financial responsibility through engaging programs delivered at no charge to schools and homes. Through its student-centered multi-sensory financial literacy curriculum designed by a team of highly skilled educators, DMFLF is closing the financial literacy gap and building stronger communities.

Roma Bank Community Foundation provides grants to organizations serving Central and Southern New Jersey. In 2013 Roma Bank was acquired by Investors Bank, but the giving remains constant.
