FREEHOLD – New security personnel have been hired by Freehold Borough K-8 School District Board of Education to keep students and staff members safe.
During a recent meeting, board members appointed John Dupuis and Steven Mirabelli as security monitors. Dupuis will work as a security monitor at the Park Avenue Elementary School and Mirabelli will work as a security monitor at the Freehold Learning Center elementary school, according to district administrators.
Dupuis and Mirabelli were hired from Dec. 1 through June 30, 2019. The annual salary for the security monitor’s position is $33,000, prorated. District administrators said the security monitors will not be armed.
And, board members approved Dupuis and Timothy Jablonski to work as security guards at the Freehold Intermediate School for sports events on an as-needed basis.
The appointments of Dupuis and Jablonski are from Dec. 1 through June 30, 2019. The position of security guard pays $18 per hour. District administrators said the security guards will not be armed.
In other business, board members authorized the purchase of 10 interior and exterior floor mats at the Freehold Learning Center from Atra Janitorial Supply. The cost will be $3,127, according to district administrators.
And, board members authorized Business Administrator Joseph Howe to award a $12,000 quotation to Linchpin Solutions, Mount Laurel, as a requirement of receiving grant funds for the 21st Century Grant Program.
Linchpin Solutions was awarded the quotation for outside evaluation services as the lowest responsible bidder, according to district administrators. Another bid was submitted by New Approach Educational Services, which bid $14,500.
Finally, the board approved entering into a contract with Hutchings HVAC Inc. for the preventive maintenance and service of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units at the Park Avenue Complex, which houses the Park Avenue Elementary School and the Freehold Intermediate School, and the Freehold Learning Center.
