The Art Hut celebrates grand opening in Spotswood

The staff of The Art Hut celebrated its grand opening in Pelican Plaza in Spotswood on Dec. 2.

The Art Hut has opened in Pelican Plaza, 491 Manalapan Road, Spotswood.

Educational and recreational arts and craft classes include Drawing and Sketching, Intro to Comics, Mommy & Me, Messy Moments, Krafty Kids, Painting Canvases, wine glasses, glass bottles, acrylic, pastel and watercolors, crocheting, jewelry making, mosaics, artificial flowers and pallets. Classes begin for children as young as 18 months old.

The Art Hut offers birthday, private and retirement parties; fundraising opportunities; and Scout badge work.

The staff consists of approximately 10 instructors, including retired artist/colorist Tom Smith who has worked at Marvel Comics for 27 years.

Owner Dawn Lensen held a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Edward Seely on Dec. 2. Ancora Pizzeria and Bagel Bazaar donated food for the event.
