UPPER FREEHOLD – The Township Committee has shifted funds in the municipal budget to cover shortfalls in certain accounts. Committee members took the action during a recent meeting.
The transfers amounted to $8,500, according to municipal officials.
Funds were transferred from the following accounts: employee group insurance ($5,000), administrative and executive – consultants ($2,100) and Social Security ($1,400).
Funds were moved to the following accounts: finance – consultants ($2,100), electricity ($2,000), fire department salaries and wages – per diem ($2,000), Police and Firemen’s Retirement System ($1,400) and Zoning Board of Adjustment – legal expenses ($1,000).
Officials said the transfers were authorized because there were insufficient funds in certain accounts. Transfers are permitted by law to be made between appropriation accounts during the last two months of the year, according to a resolution.
In other business, committee members passed a resolution to hire individuals for the Upper Freehold Winter Youth Basketball Program for the 2018-19 season.
The personnel employed includes officials Josh Howell, Curt Macysn Sr. and Curt Macysn Jr., who will be paid $25 per hour; scorekeepers Jamie Lennon, Matthew Kaminstein, Michael Bluish and MaryKate Bailey, who will be paid $7.86 per hour; scorekeeper Bridget Gooley, who will be paid $7.75 per hour; and scorekeeper Dylan Joye, who will be paid $7.70 per hour.
Additional personnel hired for the basketball program are Jake Bassi, Hunter Loche, Serina Campenella, Nicholas Kenny, Chris McCrea and Jack Kulpa, who will be paid $25 per hour; Meghan Bailey and Kelly Bailey, who will be paid $7.86 per hour; Nate Byrnes, who will be paid $7.70 per hour; Kylee Gooley and Jordan Watson, who will be paid $7.40 per hour; and Evin Heddy, Aaron Watson and Eli Byrnes, who will be paid $7.25 per hour, according to the resolution.
Finally, the committee established fees for Upper Freehold’s 2019 summer camp. The standard fees are $360 for a township resident and $410 for a non-resident.
The second camper from the same home who is a township resident will be charged $349 and the second camper from the same home who is not a resident will be charged $399.
The third camper from the same home who is a township resident will be charged $338 and the third camper from the same home who is not a resident will be charged $388.
