South Brunswick police seek information on theft of Nativity scene from Saint Augustine Church

Brandywine Living at Princeton celebrated the holiday season with a live Nativity performance entitled “The Angel’s Song” on Dec. 17. Residents of Brandywine, and two kindergarten classes from St. Augustine of Canterbury School in the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, dressed up as shepherds, the Wise Men, angels, Mary and Joseph to tell the story of the first Christmas. The stage was set with live sheep, a llama and a donkey. The production concluded with the participants singing “Happy Birthday” to the newborn Jesus.

 

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – South Brunswick police are investigating a Christmas Day theft from the Nativity scene in front Saint Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church.

The suspect stole the baby Jesus and Mary statues from the Nativity set on Henderson Road in the Kendall Park section of town. Church officials believe the theft from the church’s front law occurred sometime between 2:30 and 10 a.m. Christmas morning, according to information provided by the South Brunswick Police Department.

Police are asking anyone who may have video surveillance of the Henderson Road area in the overnight hours, or who may have any information, to call South Brunswick police at 732-329-4646.
