SOUTH BRUNSWICK – The South Brunswick Senior Center held its annual volunteer recognition celebration on Dec. 7, celebrating its 143 volunteers serving in 22 different positions for a total of 9,282 hours over the year. Each volunteer was presented with a certificate and volunteer pen with the slogan “Volunteers Are the Heart of our Team.” Dinner was catered by Business Bistro.

In addition, every year the president of the United States gives out volunteer service awards in several categories. For adults, the gold award is for more than 500 hours of service, silver is for 250-499 hours and bronze is for 100-249 hours. In the 16+ age group, a bronze is for more than 100 hours that year.
