South Brunswick seniors invited to various events

The South Brunswick Senior Center will be the host to guest speaker Susan Vanino from the New Jersey Commission for the Blind from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Jan. 4.

She will discuss adjustment to vision loss as well as her journey that took her from a sighted young woman to where she is now. This group meets the first Friday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Register by calling Caryl at 732-329-4000, ext. 7212.

Make a handcrafted necklace using high quality beads from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 4. Cost is $10. Sign up in the senior center office.

A new session of art classes begins on Jan. 7, continuing on Mondays from 1-3 p.m. Students learn to use a variety of materials, techniques and concepts. All levels welcome. Bring your own supplies. Cost is $48.

The South Brunswick Senior Center will hold an interactive musical program, “Finding the Song Within,” at 12:15 p.m. Jan. 7. Register by Jan. 2.

“Plan Ahead and Rest in Peace,” a talk about funerals, will be held at 12:15 p.m. Jan. 10. Registration required.

The South Brunswick Senior Center will hold the Crossroads Middle School South Jazz Band at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 17.

Sister Wendy Beckett will be discussed by art historian Maurice Mahler at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 18. Registration required.

Activities are open to South Brunswick Senior Center members age 55 and older. Membership is free; register from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.
