Burglary reported at the Masjid Bilal Mosque

Toms River Police responded to the Masjid Bilal Mosque, Muslim Society of the Jersey Shore due to a reported burglary.

“On Jan. 6, at approximately 10 a.m., Toms River Police responded to 1733 Route 9, the Masjid Bilal Mosque, Muslim Society of the Jersey Shore for a reported burglary,” said the spokeswoman for the Toms River Police Department, Jillian Messina.

She said manager Mahmoud Atia stated upon entering the locked manager’s office he found that the office had been ransacked and that the safe containing cash had been cut open.

“Two HP laptops valued at $600 a piece also are missing. In addition, Mr. Atia stated that a shed located to the rear of the Mosque had its door broken open but he did not see anything missing,” Messina said.
