Hogan, Anthony tapped for leadership roles

Members of the Upper Freehold Regional School District Board of Education have re-elected Patricia Hogan of Upper Freehold Township to serve as president in 2019. Hogan joined the board in 2006. She served as president in 2018.

Michele Anthony of Upper Freehold Township was elected vice president for 2019 when the board held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 2. Anthony joined the board in 2016.

The district is comprised of the Newell Elementary School, the Stone Bridge Middle School and Allentown High School, and serves school-age residents of Upper Freehold Township and Allentown.

Through a send-receive relationship with the Millstone Township K-8 School District, students of high school age in Millstone Township attend Allentown High School.

The board consists of seven representatives from Upper Freehold Township – Hogan, Anthony, Howard Krieger, Tia McLaughlin, Patrick Nolan, Brett Williams and Michael Zuppa, and two representatives from Allentown – Lara Michaud and Kurt Wayton.

A representative from the Millstone Township Board of Education sits on the Upper Freehold Regional board and votes on matters concerning Allentown High School.

During the reorganization meeting, the three winning candidates from the Nov. 6 election – incumbents Anthony and Krieger, and newcomer Williams – were sworn in to begin serving three-year terms.

After all of the members were seated, the board held elections for the positions of president and vice president, unanimously selecting Hogan and Anthony for those leadership roles.

Among the appointments board members made for 2019 were the following: Business Administrator Margaret Hom, board secretary and custodian of records; Stone Bridge Middle School Vice Principal Brian Myslinski, safety health designee and school safety specialist; Student Assistance Counselor Dana Bannon, substance awareness coordinator; and board member Michele Anthony, New Jersey School Boards Association delegate.
