A 51-year-old woman was charged with burglary by entering structure and theft of movable property on Jan. 4, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 31. A member of the Old Bridge VFW Post 9468 was standing outside the Wawa on Englishtown Road collecting donations for the VFW, police said.

The woman allegedly stole the donation jar, which was on the back seat of the member’s red pickup truck. The collection jar contained approximately $500, police said.

Old Bridge Police thanked everyone on their Facebook site who contacted police and gave information about the theft.
