Unitarian Society event marks legacy of Dr. King

The Unitarian Society is holding a day of learning how to interrupt acts of hostility, harassment and hate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 21 at 176 Tices Lane, East Brunswick. Attendance can be for the full day or just a portion.

“MLK@TUS: Be an Upstander, Not a Bystander,” will include be a dramatic and interactive presentation by Meta Theatre Company from Somerset County; and a training session with martial arts teacher Sempai Elena Waldman from Queens, who will guide participants in role plays to practice how to safely stop harassment.

The program is best suited for middle school students and older.

A chili and bread lunch will be provided, including vegetarian and vegan options.
